Outdoor Kitchen Builder Fort Collins
Most outdoor kitchens are a grill and a folding table. We build the kind you actually cook full meals in. You’ll see the layout in 3D before we pour a single footing. 15 years in Fort Collins. Once it’s done, good luck getting anyone to eat inside again.
A Grill Island Isn't an Outdoor Kitchen
You know the setup. A grill, maybe a side table, and you’re carrying plates back and forth from the kitchen the whole time you’re supposed to be hosting. If that’s your summer right now, the fix isn’t a bigger grill. It’s a real layout: somewhere to prep, somewhere to set things down, somewhere for people to actually sit.
We design Fort Collins outdoor kitchens around how you already cook and host, not around a list of appliances someone told you to want. You’ll see the whole layout in 3D, grill to prep counter to seating, before we pour a single footing. We build with materials that handle Colorado’s freeze-thaw cycles and full sun, and every project runs on the same fixed-price contract and warranty as our indoor remodels.
WHAT WE BRING TO THE TABLE:
- Fixed-price quotes after the design phase, with no surprise change orders
- Daily on-site Project Manager, plus weekly walkthroughs from Paul, our Director of Construction and one of the owne
- Real-time access to schedule, budget, and progress photos through our online client portal
- Master craftsmen with at least 10 years of trade experience or 100 completed projects
- 5-year labor warranty and lifetime manufacturer warranties on most installed products
Why Choose Artisan for Your Fort Collins Outdoor Kitchen
With over 15 years remodeling homes throughout Northern Colorado, we bring the same design-build standard to outdoor spaces that’s earned us Best of Houzz and Expertise.com recognition indoors.
Decades of Combined Experience
Our team has designed and built kitchens across Northern Colorado for over 15 years. An outdoor kitchen uses the same design thinking: layout, workflow, and materials that last, just built to handle sun, snow, and temperature swings instead of a controlled indoor environment.
Commitment to Craftsmanship
Stone veneer, weatherproof cabinetry, materials actually rated for outdoor use. We finish the details out here the same way we’d finish them inside your house.
Upfront Pricing, No Surprises
You get a real quote after a real design conversation. No hidden fees, no change order you never agreed to.
You'll Actually Know What's Going On
Your Project Manager keeps you posted, and you can check schedule, budget, and photos in the client portal whenever you want, not just when we remember to call.
Built for Northern Colorado Weather
A Colorado summer can throw hard freezes, brutal sun, and hail at the same patio in one year. We build for all three: proper drainage, freeze-resistant stone and masonry, and covered structures that keep the space usable well past Labor Day.

If you're looking for a Honest and well run Remodeling company to assist you in your project Id Highly recommend them.Posted on Google Mike GasparianSeptember 5, 2023Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We have owned our home in southeast Fort Collins for about 35 years. It is a beautiful house, on a very special lot, and we have always strived to keep it upgraded for our comfort and to preserve the value of the property. Therefore, we have done several remodels over the years. Artisan Remodeling & Design recently finished a complete renovation of our kitchen. We are extremely happy with the results, both the quality of the work and the quality of the experience. Paul and Sarah have earned our highest rating for a recommendation. When we started this project, we knew that we wanted the majority of the project to be done while we were out of town. Trust and quality of work were the most important factors in selecting a remodeling company. Paul and Sarah are a husband and wife team that run a local, family owned business. They are wonderful, positive people that guide you through the project. We found them to be excellent problem solvers, and they demonstrated flexibility as various issues surfaced. Sarah is an excellent listener, she is patient, and she helped us create a vision for our new kitchen. She has an excellent design sense, and simplified our choices for cabinets, fixtures, furniture, and flooring. This really accelerated the project. Paul handles all the details of the job, does some of the work, and he has assembled an amazing set of sub-contractors. We were so impressed by these individuals---they were all very skilled, very detail oriented, super clean, and they were simply the nicest people that you could hope to find in your home. Lastly, since we have done several remodels over the years, it is appropriate to make some comparisons. We have always selected companies that we can trust--the highest quality companies with great reputations. These choices typically come with a high price premium. In the case of Artisan, you get a company that you can trust, quality work, and very reasonable prices. Working with Sarah and Paul was an absolute pleasure. Denise and Michael GasparianPosted on Google Jeffrey RothDecember 2, 2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Artisan’s showroom is really impressive, much larger than we expected with a really wide selection. Sarah and Paul had some items pulled for us before we arrived based on our inspiration photos and design survey (which is so much fun!), and the things they chose were spot on! IHaving their guidance as we made our selections made the whole process more enjoyable and less overwhelming. The way the showroom is designed is really fun. It’s open and welcoming. Most showrooms can feel cramped and they can actually leave me feeling a little bit stressed, but Artisan’s showroom has a completely different feel. We did end up choosing many of the items they pulled for us and the remodel itself was remarkably organized. We would highly recommend Artisan!Posted on Google Trace SampsonSeptember 17, 2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When we were beginning our search for a bathroom remodeling company, the hardest part was knowing that we would have to let strangers into our home for the duration of the project. It was really important to us to find a company we could trust. When we met Paul, we immediately knew he was trustworthy, and his knowledge of the industry is unrivaled. And he presents it in such a friendly and personable manner so as not to talk down to the customer. We liked that. We hired him on the spot. Then we met Sarah and were really impressed by her design process and how she was able to pinpoint our exact style. When we were presented our renderings, they were so far beyond what we could have created ourselves. The job itself was organized and ran smoothly from start to finish, and we were never left with unanswered questions. Artisan is a rare find. Hire them! You won’t be sorry.Posted on Google Maurice KingAugust 15, 2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Planning our remodel with them was as much fun as seeing it come to life was. Once our plans were solidified, Artisan kept our project running along smoothly and seamlessly. We would and have recommended this company for the quality of their workmanship.Posted on Google Ty GortonApril 7, 2022Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Artisan Remodeling & Design is a classy organization. We contacted them to review our kitchen for a remodel. Both Sarah and Paul have a unique niche in their company and they guarantee their work. Our decision to hire them took mere moments. Sarah provides creative, tasteful and “in the know” coaching for the design portion of our kitchen remodel. She has a feel-good presence and is genuinely interested in our likes and dislikes. Sarah offers different concepts of design: bold, classic, neutral, sophisticated, calming, FUN (should I keep going?) and samples of all. Who knew there are so many unique choices that fit our personalities? Sarah consistently kept us updated through phone calls, emails and quickly responded to any questions. Artisan is building a showroom which will provide an ambiance and personal experience with samples of tile, cabinets, lighting and design ideas. They are an upscale company that cares. Paul’s skill level is impressive. He expertly knows what to do in any situation. His calm and comfortable demeanor is so easy to work with. The project manager checks in daily, Paul and Sarah check in at least once a week. Paul has a fantastic relationship with his subcontractors. We had to say goodbye when the job was complete and it was like parting from friends. Their professionalism and experience was superior. Artisan offers three levels of pricing for their products: good, better, best. They are all quality. Both Sarah and Paul have spoken honestly from experience that often a remodel project affects (temporarily) one’s very existence. Thankfully, they provided tools to help us stay levelheaded and hold on to oneself during this WELL WORTH IT experience. We were well taken care of! The results are fit for a magazine.Posted on Google Karen BandhauerOctober 12, 2021Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had a fantastic experience with Paul and Artisan Remodeling and Design. From beginning to end it was a fantastic experience and we could not be more pleased with the results. Highly recommend!Posted on Google Travis GreenJanuary 23, 2021Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are so happy we found Paul and Artisan Remodeling. Our new kitchen is beautiful and the entire process from design to completion was incredibly smooth with no hiccups. Paul was able to understand our vision for the project and improve on it in ways we hadn’t considered. Artisan also works with great suppliers so that the finishes always feel top quality. Communication was great and we were always aware of the project status and timelines. On top of all that, they still managed to finish under our original budget. Great experience all around - highly recommend!

What Actually Goes Into an Outdoor Kitchen
An outdoor kitchen build is rarely just a grill, even though that’s usually where the conversation starts. The ones that get used every week instead of twice a summer are built as a system: cooking, prep, storage, and seating all working together. Here’s what we build most for Fort Collins backyards. Pick a few, or go all in.
Built-In Grills and Cooking Zones
A built-in grill is the starting point, but most clients add a second cooking zone: a griddle, a side burner, or a wood-fired pizza oven. Each one handles a different job so you’re not standing around waiting for the grill to free up.
Pizza Ovens
This is the one everybody wants once they see it. A wood-fired pizza oven built into a stone surround becomes the thing people gather around, not just a fun extra.
Bar Seating and Gathering Space
Add a bar counter with seating and suddenly the cook isn’t stuck alone at the grill while everyone else is inside. This one change is usually what makes an outdoor kitchen feel finished instead of just functional.
Countertops and Surfaces
Outdoor counters take a beating: sun, freeze and thaw, heat straight off the grill. We spec granite, weatherproof quartz, and concrete for durability first, so you’re not redoing this in five years because it cracked.
Storage and Cabinetry
Weatherproof cabinetry keeps your utensils and grilling gear out of the weather and off the counter every time you host. Same idea as indoor storage: everything has a spot, and the counters actually stay clear.
Covered Structures and Lighting
A pergola or a full roof structure buys you weeks of extra season on both ends of summer. Add lighting and the space works just as well on a random Tuesday as it does for a Saturday party.
How Much Does an Outdoor Kitchen Cost?
Outdoor Kitchen Pricing
Cost depends on layout, materials, and how much of a full outdoor living space you’re building around the kitchen. Here’s a realistic range for Fort Collins projects.
Grill Island
$15-30K
A built-in grill island with stone or masonry surround, weatherproof countertop, and basic storage. Ideal for homeowners who want a real built-in cooking station without a full kitchen build.
Custom Outdoor Kitchen
$ 35-65K
Adds a second cooking zone (griddle, side burner, or pizza oven), extended countertop and prep space, weatherproof cabinetry, and bar seating for 3 to 4 people.
Full Outdoor Living Kitchen
$ 70k+
A complete outdoor kitchen and living space: multiple cooking zones, a wood-fired pizza oven, full bar seating, covered structure with integrated lighting, and premium stone or masonry finishes throughout.
5-Year Manufacturers Warranty
Get peace of mind with our 5-year labor warranty, as well as the manufacturer’s warranties on the materials we used. If an unfortunate event should happen and it’s included in our warranty policy and contract, we’ll come back and solve it.

Frequently Asked Questions
Somewhere between $15,000 for a basic grill island and $70,000 or more for a full setup with multiple cooking zones, a pizza oven, and a covered structure. Most projects land in between.
A grill island can be done in a few weeks. A full outdoor kitchen with a covered structure usually runs six to ten weeks, depending on scope and how much the weather cooperates.
If it’s built right, yes. We use freeze-resistant stone and masonry, proper drainage, and materials rated for this climate. Some plumbing and appliances need seasonal winterizing, and we’ll walk you through that at handoff.
A grill covers most everyday cooking just fine. A pizza oven adds a second thing to do and usually ends up being where people cluster at parties. A lot of clients weren’t planning on one until they saw it in the 3D rendering.
Usually. We’ll look at your patio, footings, and drainage during the design consultation to confirm what’s realistic before we quote anything.
We walk your space, talk about how you actually use your backyard, and give you a straight read on what’s realistic for your budget. No pressure, no obligation.
